This version is old; please go to the latest version found in my deviations. _______________________________________________ IMPORTANT: You do not have to uninstall the first deviation if you "installed" it. You just need to rename C:\backup to C:\backup_xpto7
(Original Description) _______________________________________________ Mostly icons and bitmaps to modify Windows XP system files to look like Windows 7. You can modify using Resource Hacker manually or run the xpto7.bat in Safe Mode (make sure everything is on the C: Drive). The original files will be in C:\backup_xpto7. Windows Vista/7 cursors not included. Google for them. A lot of these icons had to be "reconstructed" from existing icons. Don't hesitate to suggest a better icon/bitmap replacement.
This customization was meant for the Royale theme for Windows XP. Google for it if you want it.
NOTE: I did this using VMware Player on Windows 7 so the screenshots might not show all the icons you normally see. ______________________________________________ This is the finished 2.0 version. I added/corrected a LOT more bitmaps/icons etc. I modified xpto7.bat so that you can actually run it more than once if you want to fix the "installation". The alt folder is just leftover old versions that I didn't like (you can use them if you want). The pchealth folder has resources you can manually put in C:\Windows\pchealth but you have to back those images up manually. This is because I'm not sure if everyone has the same image names.
Remember to delete the C:\to_be_deleted folder after you restart. If the icons have not changed after you install, it could be because your icon cache is old. You can use TweakUI to repair the icon cache or manually delete IconCache.db
Feel free to edit the script files. For example if you don't want to change the flag start button, go to explorer.exe.txt and delete the line that overwrites explorer_exe_143.bmp
I will try this modification...
Thx
Btw, do you know how to use tool "replacer" for multiple file?
Thx again
